PlayGrounds Adventure is a play café opening in Holly Springs, GA in early 2026. A play café is a pay-to-play creative center for children, crawlers to age eight, with a full coffee shop. We are looking for a manager to run daily operations, to include positive interactions with children and their caretakers, drink preparations and service, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the customers. Most importantly, this position is an investment in the growth and success of PlayGrounds Adventure.

The PlayGrounds Adventure Manager is the driving force behind day-to-day operations of the play café, creating a warm, pleasant, and exciting environment for children and their caretakers. The Manager will work weekly, Monday through Friday, as well as schedule and manage part-time employees to ensure the play café is appropriately staffed, and events/parties are fully staffed. On rare occasions, the manager may need to cover a weekend event.

Other responsibilities include maintaining and ordering inventory, building and sustaining vendor relationships, developing new and exciting drink and food products, assisting in developing new and exciting activities for children, and most importantly, overseeing customer service needs.

No education is required for this position, but rather a personal drive and ambition to be a part of seeing PlayGrounds Adventure be the premiere go-to play café in Cherokee County. Experience in hospitality and/or food and beverage service, or experience in early child development or education, childcare, or management preferred.

In addition to managing the play café once the doors are open to the public, there are a number of pre-opening responsibilities to support the play café operator. These tasks can be accomplished both remotely and in person, as needed, and will cover four to six weeks prior to opening PlayGrounds Adventure to the public. The focus will be to assist the play café operator in finalizing details to ensure a strong grand opening.

PlayGrounds Adventure is not a daycare facility – caretakers will stay in the play café with their children.

DAY-TO-DAY CAFÉ RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Opening and/or closing of play café – daily café setup and end-of-day cleaning
• Preparing and serving beverages and food
• Daily cleaning of café and customer seating area
• Customer service/management

DAY-TO-DAY PLAY AREA RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Checking in caretakers and children, explaining rules and such
• Resetting play equipment as children enjoy the play center
• Daily cleaning of play surfaces
• Washing and drying play equipment
• As needed, cleaning spills and child accidents (vomit and such) from play area

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Managing part-time employees
• Employee scheduling
• Inventory management
• Event and party booking assistance

PRE-OPENING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with learning POS system
• Product development
• Vendor relations
• Ordering inventory
• Hiring part-time employees
• Overall, assisting with additional pre-opening details that may include creative and/or business decisions that affect the play café environment and success

JOB DETAILS:

• Approximately 35 hours per week (30-40 hours per week, to be discussed)
• Monday through Friday, Saturday on rare exception (café open hours TBD)
• No current benefits (this is a single-owner small business)

• Attention to details is important to the play café operator

Starting pay through pre-opening $16-18/hr; pay increase after opening depending on food service/hospitality or child development experience, to be discussed
