Job Description

We are a local, family-owned and operated commercial general contractor with a nationwide service area. Advanced Systems Inc. was founded in 1990, and we have over 395 years of collective experience in site development, commercial remodeling/buildouts, and ground-up construction. We provide our clients with design-build services to maximize savings and use our engineering, architectural and interior design-related resources to provide a “Turn-Key” start-to-finish experience for each client.

One of our prime objectives is to minimize the interruption of normal operations for our customers while work is being done. We focus on keeping the business profitable while renovations are taking place. We maintain several crews ready to convert empty space into income-producing space for our clients. We also have a full-service department for all maintenance and repair needs.

Advanced Systems, Inc. is based in Woodstock, Georgia, but we work with clients throughout Georgia and across the United States on healthcare, retail, office, industrial, aviation, and other commercial construction projects, and we are seeking an experienced Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects throughout the United States.

Projects for this position will primarily consist of interior buildouts, renovations, and tenant improvements for retail, restaurant, medical, and other commercial facilities.  This is a hands-on superintendent position. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial construction professional who can manage subcontractors and schedules and is willing and able to perform minor construction and punch-list work when needed.

Responsibilities: 

  • Commercial construction superintendent or similar field-management experience preferred.
  • Experience with commercial interior buildouts and renovations strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, painting, doors and hardware, electrical, plumbing, and other commercial construction trades.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership and subcontractor-management skills.
  • Ability to identify construction issues and make sound field decisions.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Deadline- and detail-oriented.
  • Carpentry and general construction skills.
  • Comfortable working with hand and power tools.
  • Willing and able to perform minor construction and punch-list work when required.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively and temporarily relocate to project locations throughout most of the United States.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the jobsite from start through completion.
