The Program & Events Coordinator will report to the COED President & CEO and be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events and programs hosted by the Cherokee Office of Economic Development. This person will plan and oversee food and beverage services for all events and support all of COED activities.
A successful candidate will possess the ability to coordinate and work with various personality types.
Due to the highly collaborative culture and multitude of functions hosted by COED, this is not offered as a remote position.
Strategically plan, coordinate, and execute COED programs and events such as:
· Cherokee By Choice, Inc. Quarterly Investor Meetings
· Strategic Leadership Council & Strategic Leadership Visit (LEAP)
· Annual Movers & Makers Event
· Developers Day Golf Tournament
· Behind the Velvet Rope VIP Events
· Entrepreneur of the Year Event
· Economic Development Partners Luncheon (Project Managers Luncheon)
· NAV (North Atlanta Venture Mentoring Service) mentor sessions
· Ambassador Program events
· Fresh Start Mornings
· Fresh Start Cherokee Entrepreneurship Program (work with the Program Manager to implement and scale entrepreneurial programs)
· Metro Atlanta Film Summit & Cherokee Student Film Summit (under leadership of the Film Project Manager)
· Cherokee Career Expo (under leadership of the Director of Talent Development)
· Cherokee By Choice Strategy Implementation
· Use of Salesforce and Basecamp to coordinate and track progress
· Serve as COED Community Representative as assigned or needed
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor
· Excellent verbal and written communication, especially regarding project progress and updates
· Extremely organized and detail-oriented
· Multitasker with superb time management
· Results driven self-starter
· Bachelor’s degree in related field or a minimum of five years of program/events management experience
