Performs semi-skilled work in the operation of a bus shuttle for the Senior Center in a safe and efficient manner.
Job Responsibilities:
Education and Experience:
Requires a High School diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or Certifications:
Requires a valid State of Georgia commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class B at time of hire or no later than end of probationary period; holds and maintains a good driving record. First Aid, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications preferred.
Special Requirements:
Must pass background check, pre-employment physical exam/drug test; and random testing. Must be able to work some nights, weekends, and holidays. Works varied schedules based on needs of the department. May be required to clean up contaminated areas, objects, and/or clothing as situations necessitate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Physical Demands:
The work is medium work and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, manual dexterity, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
Work Environment:
Work is performed mostly in bus setting. Outdoor work is required in providing transport for recreation projects/events with moderate frequency of exposure to weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions, fumes and airborne particles, bodily fluids, and vibrations. Work is performed under moderate frequency near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is frequently quiet to moderate, but may be loud in the field during special events.
