Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Carpenter Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are eager to learn the trade of carpentry while gaining hands-on experience in various construction projects. As a Carpenter Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced carpenters, assisting in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.

Responsibilities

Assist skilled carpenters in performing tasks related to framing, drywall installation, formwork, and general carpentry tasks
Participate in the installation of doors, windows, and cabinetry.
Help with construction painting and finishing work to enhance the aesthetic appeal of completed projects.
Utilize hand tools and power tools, safely and effectively, to measure, cut, and install materials.
Support layout, material handling, and job site setup.
Learn to read blueprints and construction plans to understand project specifications.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety on job sites.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.

Requirements

Experience

Previous experience or coursework in carpentry or construction is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction techniques is beneficial.
A willingness to learn new skills related to frame carpentry, drywall restoration, and construction estimating is essential.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship are highly valued.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Adhere strictly to FMGI safety protocols and site rules.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED
OSHA 30 certification is preferred (but can be obtained after hired)
Ability to travel for weeks at a time
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
Strong interest in carpentry or construction trades
Reliable transportation to job sites
