Highland Rivers provides treatment and recovery services to individuals impacted by mental illness; substance use disorders and intellectual developmental disabilities.

 

JOB SUMMARY: The Supported Employment Program helps people who are receiving services from Highland Rivers Behavioral Health for severe mental health problems, substance abuse or addiction find jobs they like and will be good at. We believe everyone recovering from mental health issues or substance abuse is able to work at a good job – if the right job and work environment can be found for them.

Highland Rivers is currently seeking a Supportive Employment Specialist for Cherokee County.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Secures job placement for individuals in their community. Negotiates with employers to develop suitable job(s) for individuals/clients.
  • Make face to face contacts with individuals according to the IPS Model and Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency
  • Manage a caseload by ensuring all services are authorized, chart paperwork is complete and current, and individual charts are closed according to Policy and Procedure.
  • Link individual to potential employer within 30 days of receiving referrals based on Individual preference.
  • Complete and submit GVRA Monthly Progress Reports each month. Submit A&I Invoice requests as scheduled for payments
  • Actively participates in multidisciplinary treatment/recovery team meetings each week.
  • Maintains therapeutic professional boundaries when working with individuals and families.
  • Participates in and receives certification for Supported Employment from the University of Georgia’s Institute for Human Development and Disability.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One or more years of experience as direct care service provider in a human service delivery setting, case manager, or instructor
  • One year Experience with networking with businesses in the communities and linking individuals to potential employers for jobs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in helping field.
  • Three or more years’ experience with networking with businesses in the communities and linking individuals to potential employers for jobs
  • Bilingual abilities a plus
